About me

Gualtiero Azzalini joined the IIES as graduate student in the fall of 2019. He holds a BSc and a MSc in Economic and Social Sciences from Bocconi University. Before coming to Stockholm, Gualtiero worked as research assistant at Bocconi University and as trainee in the macroprudential policy division at the European Central Bank. His research interest is in macroeconomics, with a focus on income risk and its consequences for agents' choices and the macroeconomy. In one strand of his research, he studies the insurance role of firms against workers' income risk. In another, he looks at agents' portfolio decisions to infer the type of income risk they face and to understand their role in determining the shape of the wealth distribution.
