About me

I am a post-doc working in the field of Cosmic Reionization.  Epoch of Reionization (EoR) is the period when the first stars formed and reionized the universe. The prime focus of my research is to find astronomical probes to understand the physics of the universe during EoR. The present observations have constrained it to a redshift of around 6. However, it is not a tight constraint and EoR can even be a prolonged process.

The present radio telescopes like GMRT, MWA, LOFAR, etc and the future SKA are hopeful of observing the EoR by detecting the 21-cm signal (emitted due to spin-flip transition of neutral Hydrogen). We have to have various statistical tools to extract information from this signal. I work on using the image processing techniques to study the tomographic images of 21-cm signal.

I am also involved in developing a machine learning package to study the spectra from the galxies from EoR. This would be very useful in studying the spectra from the future JWST.
