"Processes related to the link between human activities and cloud properties are very important for the Earth's energy budget. It is also among the least understood components of the climate system as a whole. Observations during the CAESAR project will eventually be used to deduce mathematical relationships that ultimately can be used in climate models," says Paul Zieger, post-doctoral scientist at ITM.

The scientists are taking measurements "inside the clouds" with the help of instruments installed inside and outside a research station located on Mt Åreskutan at 1 200 m above sea level at the ski resort of Åre, Sweden.
