This PhD course in advanced statistics is designed to equip you with the statistical knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complex landscape of data-driven research.

In the ever-evolving world of research, the ability to understand and interpret data is paramount. Statistics helps and provide the tools and techniques to extract meaningful insights from raw data.

This PhD course in advanced statistics is designed to equip you with the statistical knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complex landscape of data-driven research.

The course literature is the book “Experimental Design and Data Analysis for Biologists”. This comprehensive guide will serve as the foundation for weekly discussions on advanced statistical concepts. Each week, you will delve into a new chapter, exploring the depths of statistical theory and application.

But that’s not all! The discussions will not be confined to the pages of the book. You will also interlink these sessions with discussions on related thesis work by the PhD students. The course credits will be awarded based on the number of sessions attended, providing flexibility to accommodate your busy schedule. However, only students who have read the chapter carefully can show up, and no hybrid meetings will be offered.

The course will allow a maximum of 12 students, and if more students are registering the course leaders will select according to relevance.

For more information and course registration contact the the course leaders Ayco Tack (ayco.tack@su.se) and Peter Hambäck (peter.hamback@su.se).
