Get access to IT services

Before your studies begin you need to get a university account and order a university card.

Insurance

Students at Stockholm University are covered by different insurances depending on their student status. Make sure you know which category you belong to and pay attention to coverage and restrictions.

Learning Swedish

While it is true that nearly everyone in Sweden speaks English, it is also true that nothing immerses you in a culture better than living and learning the language.

Swedish personal identity number

Students who are staying in Sweden for more than a year must apply for an official Swedish personal identity number. All students who don’t already have a Swedish ID number are assigned a temporary number by the university.

How to register

Once you have been admitted to Stockholm University, you need to register at your department. Registration is normally done at the beginning of each semester.

Schedules

All schedules are preliminary and subject to change, hence we do not recommend printing out the schedule. Please do check here on a regularly basis or subscribe for updates.

Study environment

The work and study environment are important issues at Stockholm University, not least for students. They cover places to study, modes of teaching, and even unwritten rules of behaviour, among many other issues.

Before you come to Sweden, make sure that you have the correct documentation.

Welcome Activities

Join our welcome activities for autumn semester 2024! We start with Arrival Service 24-25 of August, and the big Welcome Fair is on the 30th of August. Around these dates, there are more activities. This page will be updated with further activities continuously.
