Mathematics, Degree Project

This course is the degree project required for a Master's Degree in Mathematics.

The content of the course is decided by the supervisor after consultation with the student. The course intends to provide experience and knowledge in the scientific approach and scientific work in mathematics. The course work should be given a detailed description in a work plan that shall be approved by the head teacher of the course before the project is begun.

Please note that the degree requirements are more specific than what is needed to be eligible for the degree project. See the section "More information" below for details.

Students within the Joint programme in Mathematics should NOT apply via Universityadmissions.se, and contact instead the Programme Director at masters@math.su.se

The course consists of one element, the project.


Teaching Format

Instruction consists of supervision of thesis work.


Assessment

The course is assessed through a written report and an oral presentation at a seminar.

Examiner

The schedule will be available no later than one month before the start of the course. We do not recommend print-outs as changes can occur. At the start of the course, your department will advise where you can find your schedule during the course.

The course has no schedule.

Note that the course literature can be changed up to two months before the start of the course.

The course literature is based on scientific publications and reports in the present area chosen by the student through literature search as well as literature distributed by the supervisor.

Course reports are displayed for the three most recent course instances.
