Guest lecture: How much does age matter in second language learning?

Lecture

Date: Friday 1 December 2023

Time: 10.00 – 12.00

Location: F420

A guest lecture by Professor Carmen Muñoz, University of Barcelona.

This talk will present research about the effects of age on second language learning and will contrast such research evidence with popular beliefs. For example, is learning a second language like learning the mother tongue? And is learning a second language in a naturalistic context like learning it in a classroom? Is the younger the better? To what extent is age determinant of second language learning success?
