The Presence of the Communist Party in Chinese Business and Its Impact on Swedish Companies

Since Xi Jinping came to power, clear ambitions have been put forward to link the Party with the business sector. The distinction between state-owned and private companies has become more blurred, and demands for Party presence in the private sector have been introduced or clarified. What does the Party's presence in the business world look like, and how does it differ between state-owned, private, and foreign companies? To what extent can we differentiate symbolic value from real influence and control? How is the presence perceived by the Swedish companies operating in the Chinese market?
