Young Investigator Grant awarded to DBB Postdoc

Débora Masini, Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics, has been awarded a two-year Young Investigator Grant from The Brain and Behaviour Research Foundation.

The grant will fund Masini’s project on the study of neuronal circuitries that control aggression. For the study Masini and her colleagues will use cutting edge technology to directly see neuronal activity using miniaturized microscopes.

“The aim of the project is to identify novel strategies for the treatment of pathological aggression”, says Masini.

Débora Masini is part of Professor Christian Broberger’s group at Stockholm University. The group focuses on the organization of brain circuits that control innate behaviours, such as aggression, reproduction, feeding as well as sleep.

The Brain and Behaviour Research Foundation Young Investigator Grant funds young researchers performing neurobiological research.
