Course description
We invite graduate students from the Nordic countries to participate in a five-day intensive course in Public Economics at Stockholm University.
December 11-13
The first three days of the course contain lectures on topics within Public Economics, such as taxation, social insurance and inequality. The course is both theoretical and empirical. We will discuss both core findings in the literature as well as new findings from the research frontier. A goal of the course is to identify weak spots in the literature to which PhD students can devote research work. Each day consists of five hours of lectures. Lectures are provided by Arash Nekoei, David Seim, and a final lecture by Emmanuel Saez.
December 14-15
The final two days of the course consist of the first inaugural Nordic Public Policy Symposium. The symposium is a forum for high-quality work on public policy for researchers with a connection to the Nordic region. Researchers from the Nordic countries, or working with data from the Nordic countries, are invited to submit papers to the conference. Course participants are not expected to submit nor present papers, but are expected to attend the conference.
