David Jackson defended his thesis in economics

On 21 May, David Jackson, Department of Economics, defended his thesis about social norms and punishment.

About the thesis

In the thesis, Enforcing Social Norms, David Jackson examines economic interactions between reputation and costly social punishments. One of his conclusions is that we should understand norms by analysing the collection of rules and prescribed behaviours.

The opponent at the defence was Ola Andersson from Uppsala University. In June, David Jackson will begin a two-year postdoc at Vrije University in Amsterdam.
