When was the last time you updated Zoom?
Are you using an older version of Zoom? If so, it's time to upgrade. Starting Thursday, you will need to have at least version 6.1.0 to join a Zoom meeting.
If it's been a while since you've updated your Zoom client, now might be the time. As of Thursday August 22, the oldest client version allowed on Zoom will be 6.1.0.
This change is for security reasons and means that if you want to join a Zoom meeting, you must have at least version 6.1.0 to be admitted. If your Zoom version is too old, you will receive a message that you need to update Zoom before you can join the meeting.
Update Zoom now to avoid being excluded from a meeting. To update, go to the Zoom desktop menu, select 'Check for updates' and follow the instructions. Get into the habit of checking for updates regularly - it's always good to run the latest versions of your applications.
The version requirement of 6.1.0 applies to everyone who wants to connect to meetings on the University's Zoom instance, including staff, students and others.
