Urban and Regional Planning Day 2024

Every year, the Department of Human Geography organises the Urban and Regional Planning Day, which gives the students of the Bachelor's Programme in Urban and Regional Planning a better picture of their future profession by having alumni talk about their experiences from education and work.

This year's Urban and Regional Planning Day, held on 25 September, began with Johannes Lidmo, a PhD student at the Department of Human Geography, talking about Nordic spatial planning and his previous work at Nordregio, an institute of the Nordic Council of Ministers.

Former Urban and Regional Planning students who are currently employed by Bærum Municipality, the Swedish Energy Agency, Huddinge Municipality, Stockholm University and Uppsala Municipality took part in a panel discussion and question and answer session on careers, the labour market, work tasks and more. The alumni shared their experiences from a number of workplaces in municipalities, consultancies, non-profit organisations, county administrative boards, regions and government agencies. The students also received tips on job searching and networking.
