The seminar thus plays an important role in being research generating over disciplinary boundaries focusing on research in planning. The seminar is open to researchers, research students and other interested parties.
Stockholm University Higher Seminar in Urban and Regional Planning
A general purpose of SUHSIS ("Stockholms universitets högre seminarium i samhällsplanering") is to provide an interdisciplinary arena for the disciplinary research with high relevance for planning that takes place at various departments and faculties at Stockholm University.
Background
One background is that multidisciplinary teaching is conducted in urban and regional planning at Stockholm University, but that research in planning is disciplinary and at different faculties and areas. In addition to being research generating, the seminar will play an important role in linking the development of new knowledge in planning to the courses and modules in the main field of studies.
General information
SUHSIS is organized by the Steering group for the Stockholm University Bachelor's Programme in Urban and Regional Planning, and the first seminar was arranged at the Programme’s 40 year’s jubilee in 2017.
The seminar language is usually Swedish, in contrast to other research seminars in the Department of Human Geography.
