ESPIDAM successful

The first and week-long European Summer Program in Infectious Disease Analysis and Modelling (ESPIDAM) was arranged from Monday 24th through Friday 28th of June. The organizers aim to make the conference an annual tradition.

- I would like to participate again, if ESPIDAM is being arranged even next year, says Victor Lópes de Rioja from Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya.

ESPIDAM is intended for PhD students, PostDocs, Public Health scientists and others who want to learn more and deeper about various aspects of statistical analysis and modelling of the spread of infectious diseases. 

- I would like to participate again, if ESPIDAM is being arranged even next year, says Victor Lópes de Rioja from Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya. He was one of an aproximately 100 participants. ESPIDAM was arranged for the first time this summer by the Department of Mathematics.

- There has been a variety of courses during this week, so I have been able to select courses which are relevant to me. I've also been networking with scientists from healt authorities from Sweden and other countries, he says. 

ESPIDAM gathers participants from all over Europe and beyond and is organized by professor Tom Britton and others with Stockholm University. The conference is supported financially by the Marcus Wallenberg Foundation. Read more about the conference here
