Master's Programmes Autumn 2024
When you graduate from one of our Master's Programmes, you will be well prepared for working life, both in Sweden and abroad. Our study programs prepare students for a diverse range of science and non-science careers.
Our master's programmes are focused on climate change, environmental management, GIS and remote sensing, glaciology and polar environments, landscape ecology and landscape analysis. We offer four international master's programmes, autumn semester 2024. They comprise 120 credits, corresponding to two years of full-time studies. Read more about each programme below.
Applications for our international programmes, begining in the autumn 2023, open on 17 October. The last day to apply is 16 January 2024, and you apply through universityadmissions.se.
FAQ – Frequently asked questions about admissions
Environmental Management and Physical Planning
The programme focuses on environmental science and physical planning. It provides students with a systems perspective on environmental issues, focusing on planning processes, international and transboundary issues, and practical training in tools such as systems analysis.

Geomatics with Remote Sensing and GIS
This programme will develop students’ skills in several fields, for example, photogrammetry, remote sensing, GIS as well as methods for modelling, explorative data analysis and visualisation with a focus on landscape information.

Landscape Ecology
Landscape patterns and land use change are important components for understanding ecological processes affecting biodiversity and ecosystem functions and services. The program builds on our research strengths in applied historical ecology, landscape analysis and resource management, linking community ecology with restoration and management of both terrestrial and marine environments.
Polar Landscapes and Quaternary Climate
Analyzing the Earth’s landscapes, landforms, and sediments, you learn about climate and environmental changes and acquire useful transferable skills. Allows for specializations towards glaciology and polar environments, and climate reconstruction and modelling.
