The fingerprint that human actions have left on the earth’s temperature has driven a decline in biodiversity and influenced the stability of ecosystems by altering the geographic distribution of several species, including temperature-sensitive microorganisms such as Saccharomyces yeast.

During my PhD, my research aimed to contribute to understanding the importance of molecular mechanisms in adaptation to cold temperatures, including the role of promoter and allele type. Also, such research sheds light on epigenetic mechanisms that might be related to cold tolerance.

My current research is focused on the adaptative evolution of inter-species hybrids. I am focused on exploring their capacity to adapt to new environments (such as cold temperatures) through their genetic variation. Also, I am interested in the fungal biodiversity assessment of boreal and tropical forests.
