Om mig

I am very generally interested in physical phenomena that can be described by beautiful mathematical structures. Currently I am studying the role of topology in the classification of non-Hermitian systems, and how physical symmetries affect this classification.

I joined Emil's group in 2021 as a PhD student, after studying in the "Theoretical and Mathematical Physics" programme in Munich, Part III of the Mathematical Tripos in Cambridge, as well as undergraduate studies in Linköping and Stuttgart.

Undervisning

I am teaching the courses:

  • Electrodynamics, in periods A and B in autumn '22. Reach out to Ingemar or me with questions, or join my exercise classes: Thursdays 10am, FB41, AlbaNova; on
    • Date TBD, on Electrostatics,
    • Date TBD, on Magnetostatics,
    • Date TBD, on Special Relativity,
  • Kvantfysikens Priciper, from period C in autumn '22, until period B in spring '23,
  • Kvantmekanik, periods A and B in spring '23, and
  • Quantum mechanics summer course, summer '23.

Forskning

In my most recent (and hence favourite) project, titled "Braid Protected Topological Phases", we investigated the Non-Abelian eigenvalue structure of Non-Hermitian lattice models in two dimensions. We found topologically robust phases of matter that are classified by the braid group. These phases are very different from the Hermitian equivalent: they can be gapless and even contain unpaired degeneracies.
