The workshop aims to discuss methodological, conceptual and empirical advances in the study of skills and skilling regimes. In the workshop, we take a special interest in research sites involving Asian countries as single cases or in comparative analysis with countries from other regions. By interrogating the notion of ‘skills’, we are keen to collectively and critically explore how conceptualisations and the construction of skills, and skilling, have shaped labour market and educational policies as well as transnational migratory flows.
