Abstract submission

The symposium focuses primarily on research that concerns the theme Language in practice – in a changing world, which should be interpreted in a broad and creative way. Possible topics are for example global and local changes that affect language learning and use, and changes within research fields that lead to the development of methods or approaches to the study of language learning and use. Some further possible topics:

  • Multilingualism in society and at work
  • Language, digitalization and multimodality
  • Language use and learning in new forms/at new arenas
  • Cognitive perspectives on learning and their application in language teaching
  • Risk and crisis communication
  • Interpreting and translation

Contributions in applied linguistics that are not directly related to the theme are also welcome.

Presentations should be 20 min long followed by 5 min discussion. Contributions can be in Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, or English.

Abstracts should be max. 300 words (incl. references). They should clearly state the aim, method, and (expected) results of the study.

The deadline for submission of abstracts is 7 November 2021 (extension due to popular demand).

Submitted abstracts will go through double-blind peer review.

Notification of acceptance will be sent out on 17 December 2021.
