About me

Zakaria Lemmouh is a former researcher and administrator at the Department of Language Education. He's a upper-secondary school teacher of English and Swedish as a second language.

Teaching

He has supervised theses in English linguistics and English subject didactics, as well as teached English linguistics and proficiency courses, English and Swedish as a second language subject didactics.

Research

Zakaria Lemmouh received his PhD in 2010 from the English Department at Stockholm University with a dissertation titled The Relationship among Vocabulary Knowledge, Academic Achievement and the Lexical Richness in Writing in Swedish University Students of English.

His main research areas are:

  • Second Language Vocabulary Acquisition
  • The relationship between vocabulary knowledge and reading and writing proficiency among L2 learners
  • Swedish language policies in regard to the role of English as a school subject
