Participants – Art Curators Day

These are the participants in the event Art Curators Day. It is curated by Sarah Rodrigues as part of a degree project within Curating Art, International Master’s Programme at the Department of Culture and Aesthetics, Stockholm University.

Sarah Rodrigues is a freelance art curator living between Stockholm and Athens. Currently, she is communications manager for the Swedish Curators’ Association and is completing her MA Curating Art degree at Stockholm University. “Art Curators Day” is her final MA graduation project.

Rikard Fåhraeus is a multimind artist that since his MFA at Konstfack 1999 has exhibited regularly in Sweden and abroad. He has engaged extensively in the artist-run community through gallery Studio44 and there curated, handled projects and gallery exchanges. He founded Slipvillan in 2007.

Jonas Kleerup is a Stockholm-based art consultant and advisor working with both the private and corporate sectors. He has previously run a gallery in his own name and worked as curator and writer. Today he is also running CREAM (an exhibition platform for the junction between art, design and craft) and co-founding a tech platform for inventory towards art collectors.

Nina Øverli is a Norwegian freelance curator and writer based in Stockholm. She regularly contributes to the program at Weld in Stockholm and teaches at the MA Curating Art, Stockholm University and at Stockholm University of the Arts. She holds an MA in Contemporary Art Theory from Goldsmiths University London and an MA Curating Art from SU.

Masoud Shahsavari (Curator of Slipvillan and Studio44). I have been a filmmaker for 22 years and a lecturer in film and film production. Now I work exclusively with my own art creations and curatorial activities.

Laetitia Deschamps I currently work as a visual artist and a member of Slipvillan and Studio44. I am also an art teacher at Lycée Français St Louis. I curated my first exhibition “Roaring Silence” this year at Slipvillan, and I am preparing new projects for the future.

Richard Julin Artistic director of Accelerator at Stockholm university with over twenty years of experience in curating art exhibitions and contemporary art events of all sorts, foremost performances. In exhibition making a focus on producing new art works together with artists and making exhibitions with and around these new creations.

Martin Q Larsson is manager for Subtopia’s creative incubator Katapult in Alby, south of Stockholm, which helps artistic, creative and social entrepreneurs make a better living from what they do best.

Michele Masucci is an artist, curator and writer with a research-based artistic practice engaged with contemporary histories and cultural expressions of social movements. He is currently a guest lecturer in art theory at Konstfack University of Arts, Craft and Design and a PhD fellow in theory at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.

Sona Stepanyan is a freelance curator currently collaborating with Mint Konsthall and The Swedish Curators’ Association.

Jonatan Habib Engqvist is a curator, author, occasional teacher, and editor of Ord&Bild. Together with Power Ekroth, he initiated the Swedish Curator Association two years ago and hopes that we soon will have a broader Nordic/Baltic network.

Power Ekroth is an independent curator and managing editor of SITE Zones.

Marianna Garin is a freelance curator, consultant, researcher, and writer. She lives and works between Sweden and Berlin. Her practice revolves around exploring and conceptualizing public space by examining the complexity of urban environments and making art an integral part of the collective transformation of public space.

Anna Johansson is an art historian and curator, educated at Umeå University, Konstfack and Lund University. Since 2015, she has worked as a curator at Malmö Konstmuseum with responsibility for exhibitions, research and acquisitions. She is a board member of the Swedish Curators’ Association.

Emmeli Person is an artist with a curatorial practice working within and against institutional narratives of learning.

Sara Endler is a multi faceted creator who continuously explores the connectivity of body, mind and soul. She is a second generation Chiropractor, and her Chiropractic studies intermingle with trainings and courses from Somatics, Dance, Neurology and Yoga.

Carla Abrahamsen is your typical jack of all trades with feet moving in areas of amusement, performance and social work. Momentarily exploring and sharing her passion for senses, sensing, making sense of and the nonsensical within us and around us.

Renata Estevez is a Humanistic Clinical Psychologist and a Somatic Psychotherapist. She is trained and works with MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies) in the field of psychedelic research for mental health, interested in developing its potential when combined with somatic work.

Sofia Nystrand Drawing inspiration from oceans, forests and folklore, Vargkvint is the musical project of Stockholm-based multiartist Sofia Nystrand. Combining evocative melodies and a playful approach to arrangement and instrument usage, Vargkvint’s music falls neatly between the definitions of modern classical, folk, pop and experimental music.
