Eight subjects ranked in the top 250 in the world

On 26 October the 2024 Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject was presented. In the ranking universities all around the world are listed from their performances in 11 subjects. 

Stockholm University is ranked as follows within nine subjects, eight subjects at Stockholm University are ranked in the top 250:

Arts and Humanities (place 94 out of 601), Business and Economics (place 151–175 out of 801), Computer Science (place 401–500 out of 1001), Education (place 151–175 out of 601), Law (place 101–125 out of 301), Life Sciences (place 98 out of 1 001), Physical Sciences (place 101–125 out of 1 001), Psychology (place 201–250 out of 601) and Social Sciences (place 89 out of 801).

In Sweden, Stockholm University is ranked as follows: 

Arts and Humanities (place 2), Business and Economics (place 2), Computer Science (place 6), Education (place 2), Law (place 3 with Uppsala University), Life Sciences (place 4), Physical Sciences (place 1 with KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Lund University), Psychology (place 4 with Jönköping University, Gothenburg University and Lund University), Social Sciences (place 2).

The ranking by subject uses the same indicators as the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024, based on 18 indicators within the areas teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income, but the methodology has been recalibrated to suit the individual fields.
