Auditions were also introduced in order to raise the musical quality, and the choir changed its name to the Stockholm University Choir. As a result of this change, the choir was no longer strictly reserved for the University’s employees and students. However, collaboration with the University has continued to some extent, as the choir conducts its rehearsals in the University’s facilities and sings at several of the University’s recurring events, such as the conferment of master’s degrees.
The Stockholm University Choir organises a concert each semester and performs for other parties in connection with various events and celebrations. Information on the date and location of the choir’s concerts is published on their website and Facebook page. The choir also participates in various choir competitions and came in fourth place at an international competition in Croatia in the spring.
