About me

I am a PhD student in bioinformatics and neuroscience in Eva Hedlund's group. I am graduate with a Masters in Science (M.Sc.) in Bioinformatics from University of Bologna, Italy.

My background gives me a broad insight in the field of bioinformatics that is applied to neuroscience and the neurodegenerative disease such as Amyothropic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). I am focusing my studies in understanding mechanisms of selective neuronal vulnerability and resilience seen in different types of motor neurons in ALS, exploiting both dry and wet lab. Together with selective neuronal vulnerability I am studying miscommunication in ALS at the intercellular level between motor neurons axons and muscle cells and their formed neuromuscular junction.
