About me

I am a PhD Student at the Department of Education, Stockholm University since 2022. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Educational Science from the University of Muenster, Germany and a Master's Degree in International and Comparative Education from Stockholm University.

During my studies I discovered my interest for education in prison and for my current dissertation project I am exploring the role of education in Swedish prisons and more generally the conditions for learning and participation in education in prisons. I am interested in the pedagogical staff’s perspectives on education and their experiences of working in the prison context. The project will also include the prisoners’ perspectives and shed light on the meaning of education for them and their reasons for participating respectively not participating in education while incarcerated.
