About me

I am a PhD student in Sociological Demography at the Stockholm University Demography Unit, Department of Sociology. My research interests cover immigrant socioeconomic integration, socioeconomic inequalities, social determinants of health, and advanced quantitative methods. My doctoral thesis investigates how the overqualification of the second-generation children of migrants is related to their socioeconomic integration and the accumulation of negative labor market and life outcomes in Sweden. The thesis project is particularly interested in how overqualification affects career prospects, earnings development, and the mental well-being of the G2.

I am also currently working on a research project explaining the recent decline in fertility in Sweden and other Nordic countries, with a special focus on the relationship between economic uncertainty and fertility outcomes and subjective well-being and fertility outcomes (Project name: Fertility intentions and fertility decline in Sweden (P20-0517), PI: Gerda Neyer).

Before starting my PhD studies, I received an MSc in Economic Demography from Lund University in Sweden and a Bachelor's in Economics from Seoul National University in South Korea.
