About me

Yu Xia is a postdoc with Dr. Tom Willhammar at Stockholm University. He took a joint PhD program from 2019 to 2023, during which he conducted his doctoral studies at both the University of Birmingham and the Southern University of Science and Technology. His research focused on fabricating metallic nanoparticles with non-equilibrium structures and shapes using gas-phase condensation and thermal shock method, as well as characterizing nanoparticle structures using scanning transmission electron microscopy, including in-situ heating and electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) techniques. Currently, his primary focus is utilizing the 4DSTEM techniques to image the structures of electron beam-sensitive materials. He also develops Python scripts to post-process the image datasets.
