Applied Developmental Science (ADS) focuses on the practical applications of what we know about human development in order to better people's lives.

The Applied Developmental Science Research Group creates new knowledge and insights into how children and adolescents develop in context. Contexts like the home, school, and local neighborhood are focal points for the research that we conduct.

We partner with youth stakeholders (youth themselves, parents, teachers, youth advocates) to boost resources within these key developmental contexts.

We have a “whole child” focus, which importantly includes attention to understanding the strengths of young people.
