Research project A discipline history of Human Geography
Stories from the female side.
he aim of this project is to present an analysis of the trajectories of a number of female human geographers who have made an academic career after their dissertation. What were the opportunities and obstacles they met under and after their PhD-education? How did they navigate through the pitfalls and interferences? The project also aims at discussing the impact of the discipline itself due to an increased number of women geographers. The case study is one department in Sweden how hosted a greater number of women than any other Swedish departments during the studied period 1975 – 2005.
