Research project Cinematic "Situations": Curating the Moving Image as Social Event
The research project focuses on the experience of the cinematic image as a social situation, studying curatorial processes in contemporary moving image art.
This research project examines film and moving images in contemporary art with a particular focus on the cinematic situation as a social institution, meeting place and as a collective process. Studying the curatorial process and the interaction between place-bound art practices and film as a documenting tool, the project examines the collectivity and social awareness that is enabled through the experience of moving image art in a specific context or situation.
