The dissertation project is about the family concept within Migration Law. More specifically, the dissertation focuses on family immigration to Sweden. The overall purpose is to examine constructions of family, family life and human relationships in legal regulation and application. This includes critically analyzing how different definitions of migrants' family life relate to human rights commitments but also to discussions and discourses about what a family is and can be.
