Research project Juvenile crime in Sweden

Juvenile delinquency is one of the central problem areas both in criminological research and in Swedish public debate. Several of Sweden experts on juvenile delinquency are involved in this book project, which has been ongoing since 2001.

Juvenile delinquency is one of the central problem areas both in criminological research and in Swedish public debate. Several of Sweden’s experts on juvenile delinquency are involved in this book project, which has been ongoing throughout the 2000s. The project has so far published five anthologies, all in Swedish language. The fifth and most recent edition contains newly written chapters that deal with shootings in gang environments, school and crime, young people's exposure to crime and juvenile delinquency from a life course perspective. All in all, the book project, based on different perspectives and methods, provides a multifaceted knowledge of the nature, extent and development of juvenile delinquency, its causes and explanations, and of society's measures and reactions.
