Research project LVC-Steps

The purpose of the project is to develop and evaluate scientifically based pedagogical approaches, methods and tools within the domain of air combat training, to systematically plan, evaluate and follow up training and training results.

LVC-Steps plans, evaluates and follows up on air combat training.

The full project title is “LVC-Steps (Live, Virtual and Constructive: simulation, training value, efficiency and performance for fighter aircraft)”. LVC is a training where real (live) aircraft are combined with virtual (manned flight simulators) and computer-generated entities (constructives) in one and the same training scenario.

The project focuses on concepts of training value and that fighter pilots in real and simulated aircraft receive a good training value. This includes the design of LVC training scenarios as well as the evaluation of implemented scenarios in terms of training value.

The project collaborates with the Swedish Air Force and its air bases in Sweden.
