The research design is based on fieldwork at strategically selected military heritage sites. These are the pictures from the field work site Linköping: Swedish Air Force Museum.
Swedish Air Force Museum: Museum tracing Swedish military aviation from the early 20th century to present day. Of particular interest is the exhibition ‘Hemliga Handlingar – DC-3:3an som Försvann’ (Secret Acts – DC-3:3an that went missing). It showcases the wreck of the airplane DC-3:3an that were shot down in June 1952 over the Baltic Sea leading to a diplomatic crisis. The Soviet Union denied involvement until its dissolution and the wreck was salvaged in 2003.
