Strängnäs - Arsenalen.
The research design is based on fieldwork at strategically selected military heritage sites. These are the pictures from the field work site Strängnäs - Arsenalen.
Arsenalen: Swedish Tank Museum, displaying military vehicles from the 20th century until today. The museum had an exhibition simulating a Cold War ‘bergrum’ (bunker built into the mountain), made to protect the Swedish population from the potential outbreak of a nuclear war. A surprising finding was the highly developed cooperation between the museum and the Belarusian computer game developing company WARGAMING. WARGAMING get access to the actual tanks in the collection, so that the tanks in the game are accurate, and the gamers get interested in the tanks by playing the game, and then wants to come and see the tanks in real life. Technical documentary movies produced by WARGAMING presenting the tanks were also showcased at the museum.
