Research project Organization of the work environment to promote sustainable health

Over the past years, Sweden has seen a growing interest in the promotion of sustainable health and well-being in working life. This is for instance reflected in the national work environment strategy and also forms the starting point for this research project.

Balance, a scene built in lego.

Based on the fact that the concurrent investigation of positive and negative aspects of working life is informative, this research project sets out to study variations in demands, resources and different aspects of health among women and men with and without a managerial position in a public organization.

Moreover, it examines how professionals describe a working life that promotes health and well-being. In addition to providing an initial understanding of how people can understand concepts such as sustainability and health promotion in a work-life context, the research project is expected to add knowledge about potential opportunities and obstacles for the successful management and organization of a work environment that promotes sustainability, health, and well-being among employees.
