The future of the Nordic social model depends on the availability of secure employment. The model is challenged by changes in labour markets. Research on precarious and informal work has mostly overlooked the Nordics.

Using an industry-specific perspective, we analyse how workers experience this kind of work, its consequences to workers livelihoods and to their sense of belonging, and trust in society. Our results contribute to understanding the importance of secure employment to individuals and societies at large.
