The aim of the project Scaffolding writing is to develop writing pedagogy in four linguistically varied environments.

The research project Scaffolding writing is a continuation of the project Skrivkompetens, which has built scientific competence in writing pedagogy during the five previous years.

Scaffolding writing is a cooperation between Åbo Akademi University, Stockholm University and Umeå University and is framed of an international research network. The aim of the project is to develop writing pedagogy in four linguistically varied environments, with particular focus on scaffolding writing strategies for students in grades 7-9 with Swedish as a first language and Swedish as a second language in Finland and Sweden.
