The study utilizes variations in the number of classes offered in different program groups and school regions to estimate the impact on local students’ educational trajectories and adult labour market outcomes. The investigation highlights the multidimensional impact of upper secondary supply: Changing the supply of one program affected not only access to that program, but also other policy-relevant aspects such as the competition for other programs and the overall access to higher education.
