Research project Transboundary Crises and International Security

Today’s international security problems have unique characteristics. They emerge incrementally, over time and space, deepening and interacting with various conditions that hamper effective responses.

This project explores the ‘creeping crisis’ – climate related disasters, disinformation campaigns, anti-microbial resistance, and mass migration, for example – and how the international community must respond. This project has run for several years, financed by multiple funders including the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) and Horizon Europe (EU).
