The research project is based at the Department of Ethnology, History of Religions and Gender Studies at Stockholm University and affiliated with the Department for the Study of Culture and the research program Uses of Literature: The Social Dimensions of Literature at the University of Southern Denmark.

The project studies the emergence of and heightened attention to a Swedish popular romance genre during the 2010’s. The study concentrates on both the romantic novels in question and the context in which they are written, read and talked about.
