Research subject Crime trends

The extent of crime over time and space is one of the main areas of criminology and also something that the public has great interest in.

Stockholm university has a long tradition of research on the development of crime in both the short and the long term. An important theme concerns methodological issues, i.e. how we measure crime in different societies and at different points in history, but also how the development of crime may be explained.

Juvenile crime in Sweden

Juvenile delinquency is one of the central problem areas both in criminological research and in Swedish public debate. Several of Sweden experts on juvenile delinquency are involved in this book project, which has been ongoing since 2001.
