Studying climate and climate change involves exploring long-term patterns and variations in weather conditions over time and in different places of the Earth.

We also analyze changes in the climate system and its impact on environments, ecosystems and human societies. We use different types of methods such as tree rings, pollen, sediments, ice cores, historical sources, the microclimate in different natural environments, as well as numerical analysis and modelling. Our research spans over several 100,000 years back in time so that we can understand how climate changes can affect different environments in the future.
