Your seat may be withdrawn if you do not register according to the instructions provided by your department.

Registration Autumn 2024

Registration for our courses is open between 5-13 August 2024 (please note that registration is open longer for some courses, please visit Ladok to see how long the online registration is open for your course). Make sure to register on time to keep your place. If you fail to register on time, you will automatically forfeit your place to another applicant on the reserve list. Registration is made online at student.ladok.se.

If you are a first-time student at our department, please see the website New student to get started with your studies.

If you for some reason are unable to complete the online registration, please contact expedition.romklass@su.se as soon as possible, but before the online registration closes at the latest.

Welcome activities

Stockholm University organises a series of welcome activities that stretch over a few weeks at the beginning of each semester. The programme is voluntary (attendance is optional) and includes Arrival Service at the airport and an Orientation Day, see more details about these events below.
Your department may also organise activities for welcoming international students. More information will be provided by your specific department.

Spoken and written language is analysed from a socio-pragmatic perspective, particularly in view of the extralinguistic factors that affect communication and that explain linguistic choices and linguistic variation. Pragmatic phenomena such as social politeness and self-image are given special attention in the course.
