The Master's programme in Child Language Acquisition is offered with two different study routes: 1) for language scientists and 2) for teachers and social scientists. The study route for language scientists is aimed at students with a bachelor's degree in linguistics or speech pathology.

About the study route for language scientists

The study route for teachers and social scientists is aimed at teachers, preschool teachers, psychologists and other cognitive scientists with a specialisation in language. Here you get the opportunity to broaden your skills with a linguistics education adapted for students with your study background.

The programme gives you a basic orientation in linguistic theory and methodology as well as in-depth knowledge in the interdisciplinary field of child language development. On the courses within the programme, you will be trained by teachers who are also active researchers. Together, we review current child language research and its most relevant methods. As a student, you develop your scientific approach and your ability for independent analysis. You also get to practice communicating your work orally and in writing.

The Master’s Programme in Child Language Acquisition gives you a broad competence for a continued career within or outside academia. After completing your master’s degree, you are eligible for postgraduate education.
