Art Historical Knowledge and Interpretation I

The aim of this course is to enhance the students’ knowledge and skills in general epistemology as well as interpretation theory relating to art history. The language of instruction is English.

The intention is to combine theory and practice for students to acquire a broader range of theoretical and methodological perspectives and gain the knowledge required to make independent choices regarding theory and method in their degree project. In addition, students will gain knowledge of the historical evolution of interpretation theory as it relates to art history and be able to reflect on interdisciplinary questions concerning epistemology and interpretation theory from a more general perspective.
