Narrative analysis: Thematic, structural and performative

The course provides knowledge about diverse qualitative methods related to narrative analysis. The aim is for the students to learn how to apply these methods in qualitative analysis. The course covers three different approaches to analyse narrative material: thematic narrative analysis, structural narrative analysis, and narrative positioning analysis.

  • Course structure

    Teaching format

    The teaching will be based on lectures and seminars.

    Participation in the seminars is mandatory. In case of absence, the student will be given a compensatory assignment.

    The course will be taught in English.

    Assessment

    The course is examined through one practical assignment with individual submission and active participation in a seminar.

  • Schedule

    The schedule will be available no later than one month before the start of the course. We do not recommend print-outs as changes can occur. At the start of the course, your department will advise where you can find your schedule during the course.
