Theory and Method in History of Religions I

The course focuses on the study of academic literature with an emphasis on methodological and theoretical problems as encountered in contemporary empirical research.

Further, the course will include discussions on historical problems within the academic study of religion.

  • Course structure

    The course consists of one module, Theory and Method in History of Religions I, 7,5 credits.

     

    Teaching format

    Instruction is given in the form of seminars based on the mandatory course literature.

    Assessment

    The course is examined on the basis of written assignments in the form of papers linked to the seminars, and through a written examination in the form of a take home examination which will mainly focus on the parts of the mandatory course literature that has not been discussed at the seminars.
