Critical performance theories II
This is a course within the International Master's Programme in Performance Studies.
The course is a continuation and expansion of the theories and themes covered in Critical Performance Theories I, but focuses more on contemporary performance theories. The course deals with issues of equality, diversity and inclusion among both performance theorists and practitioners in a time characterized by globalization, migration, transnational and intercultural encounters and economic precarity. The course thematizes how performance consists of bodily practices and knowledges that can convey cultural memories, collective traumas or social utopias. The course also addresses questions about positioning, scientific knowledge and research ethics.
